The Alderwood Group has named Cheryl Shipe as Chief Operations Officer. Shipe has been with Alderwood since 2002 serving as Director of Operations for Alderwood’s Winter Park, Colorado office and as General Manager for Lagonita Lodge.
“We are continuing to add to our client base – seasoned timeshares and full service resorts - and grow our value-added service brands,” says Tom Johnson, President and CEO of the California-based resort management group. Alderwood also manages the wholesale vacation and travel club under Alderwood Advantage at alderwoodadvantage.com. “With a recent refocus of our business strategy, I am confident Cheryl has the background and skill set to lead us in the fulfillment aspect,” adds Johnson.
Shipe will oversee operations for all of Alderwood’s divisions, including Alderwood Resort Management in Palm Springs and Big Bear Lake, Alderwood Colorado Management in Colorado, and Alderwood Advantage™, an online vacation and travel club. Shipe’s immediate focus will be to grow Alderwood’s client base in Palm Springs and develop Alderwood’s market share for short-time rental reservations at its resorts. Alderwood currently provides online booking, reservation sales support and rental services for five resort and timeshare properties and SolVista Basin at Granby Ranch ski and snowboard resort under the brand MakeitGranby.com. “We are consolidating our Central Reservations Center to function out of our corporate office in Big Bear Lake,” says Shipe, “and are looking to add to our resort management group team.” Alderwood is currently hiring for an experienced call center Manager to lead its team of reservationist and implement Alderwood’s new service products.
